Community Impact
Since 1984, the BTC has operated with the same purpose: promoting central
Ohio’s economic development through the creation and incubation
of growth oriented technology businesses that will result in high-value,
high-wage jobs. The Center offers its 30 client companies a rare combination
of state-of-the-art facilities, professional services and the ability
to tap into a vast network of corporate and community leaders and investors.
It also promotes financial independence of early stage businesses by helping
to secure assistance from a variety of public, private and university
resources.
The BTC is one of 11 incubator organizations comprising Ohio’s Thomas
Edison Incubator Program, a state-funded initiative designed to promote
state industry partnerships for technology company growth. Much of the
BTC's success can be attributed to the strong support provided by partnership
organizations, the Ohio Department of Development and central Ohio businesses.
This support has enabled the BTC to serve a wide range of high-tech clients
involved in bioscience, information technology and advanced materials
